Политика мультикультурализма на российской почве: есть ли перспективы?
This paper continues a debate about the Russian version of multiculturalism. In order to benefit from its cultural diversity, Russia from one side has to rethink its historical experience of ethno-cultural relations, and from the other side to improve intercultural competences of the civil servants responsible for implementing cultural and social policy in Russia. Among the different ways to adopt multiculturalism in Russia creation of a new up-to-date cultural policy could be mentioned. This policy fits the framework of the modern European and worldwide tendencies and promotes understanding of culture as an instrument of positive change and development of the society. How successful a recognition and respect of cultural diversity at the institutional level in Russia would be depends on joint efforts from the different actors who formulate a strategy of the real change within the cultural and social policy.
