Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Traditional Masculinity Ideology and Political Protests in Authoritarian Regimes: Unpacking the Role of Attitudes toward Political Authorities

Psychology of Men and Masculinity. 2025. Vol. 26. No. 3. P. 360–372.
Gulevich O., Krivoshchekov V.

Limited research has explored the connection between traditional masculinity ideology (TMI) and political attitudes, focusing on adherence to political ideologies and approval of specific leaders aligning with traditional masculinity. This investigation delves into the association between TMI and attitudes toward political protests in an authoritarian regime. The study was conducted in Russia, characterized by an authoritarian political regime and comparatively low levels of gender equality. Encompassing men residing in Russia (N1 = 825, N2 = 614), our findings revealed that TMI is positively associated with attitudes towards repression against political opposition, but negatively associated with attitudes towards political protests. However, these associations were mediated by authoritarian submission, signifying confidence in the imperative to obey political authorities. Notably, only the general TMI factor evinced indirect effects on political attitudes. We further discuss the underlying reasons and potential limitations of the obtained results.

Ustyuzhanin V., Zinkina J. V., Korotayev A., / Series "SocArXiv". 2026.
“Leaderlessness” is widely held to be a defining feature of contemporary mass mobilization, yet the claim rests on a handful of recent cases. We offer the first systematic cross-national analysis of this phenomenon from 1791 to 2019. We show that the absence of leadership is real but older and more modest than claimed: the share ...
