The creative career of T. M. Dridze is impressive not only in a historical or biographical way. The shift of researcher’s focus from the information-target (motivational) analysis of the semantic structure of the text to the analysis of sociocultural activity as a fixation and translation of semantic structures of social experience, including the urban environment, allowed us to set a wide horizon of applications of social semiotics as an interdisciplinary approach in the research and design of socio-cultural systems and practices. Her research knowledge is essential and relevant in the theoretical and practical terms of socio-cultural engineering and institutionalisation of humanitarian expertise of modern technologies and projects of education, communication, and management implemented with their help.
