Россия и Япония: Исторические обиды как фактор национальной идентичности
The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the formation of modern national identity in Russia and Japan. It is also about the role of the joint historical past of the 20th century and its impact on the process of forming of collective memory. Certain outlook formed during all these years on the events of WW2 in both countries differs one from another and both Russia and Japan have reciprocal claims concerning these events. However, due to certain circumstances, the dialogue aiming to deal with these claims is conducted in a completely different way, rather than the dialogue between Japan and other countries in East Asia whose relationship history can’t be called smooth either. There is also information about movies, fiction, cartoons and non-fiction pieces that highlight a simplified version of the events of the past spread in Russian and Japanese society in this article.
