The peculiarity of translations of medieval texts is always implies additional research work and obligating commentary. The paper aims to share the experience of translating one the most interesting monument of Korean literature Hanjunnok (1795-1805, The Memoirs of Lady Hyegyôn) and describe the principles we followed as well as the difficulties we encountered in the process of translation, such as an interpretation of the title, special vocabulary, problems of decoding the original graphics etc.
