Художественное творчество как метод проживания травмирующих событий
The article is devoted to the relationship between the biography and work of Euphrosyne Kersnovskaya who was a writer, an outsider artist, and a prisoner of the Gulag. In accordance with the concept of post-memory proposed by Marianne Hirsch, the figure of Kersnovskaya belongs to the "first" generation – the individuals and traumatic events of history and social catastrophes took place during the lifetime (a radical tightening of the political background in the USSR, as well as the creation and development of the Gulag system). After her release Kersnovskaya wrote her memoirs, accompanied by a visual narrative series. The authors, using formal-stylistic and semiotic methods, attempted to analyze the visual language of the artist, as well as to identify the key features of the storyline of the memoirs, which reveal the specifics of the GULAG culture. The chronologically structured story and the author's division of memoirs into notebooks and chapters allows subsequent generations (the "second" and "third" generation after eyewitnesses) to "pass" the path of Kersnovskaya – from a landowner to a prisoner of the Gulag. According to the case of Euphrosyne Kersnovskaya, as well as some other imprisoned artists, it can be argued that artistic creation and the creation of memoirs had a therapeutic effect and contributed to the safe “repetition”, living, and overcoming an individual psychotraumatic situation.
