Абдуллах бин Абдул Кадир Мунши "История Абдуллаха; Рассказ о плавании Абдуллаха из Сингапура в Мекку"
The book presents a commentary translation from Malay into Russian of two works by an outstanding Malay writer of the 1st half. XIX century Abdullah bin Abdulkadir Munshi (1796/7-1854) - memoirs "The History of Abdullah", published in the last author's edition (1849), as well as his posthumous creation, "The Story of Abdullah's voyage from Singapore to Mecca" (1854) - travel notes of the writer , who went on Hajj and, by the will of fate, died in Mecca. Both of these works provide valuable evidence of the many historical events that took place in the north-west Malay Archipelago during this period, including the circumstances of the British-Dutch rivalry in the region, as well as the founding of Singapore as an outpost of British rule in the archipelago.
