The paper considers peculiarities in the verbal representation of interoceptive (inner-body) sensations in English and Russian. The author lists the basic factors that shape the process of verbalization and identifies the role of the cultural environment in the formation and exteriorization of subjective inner-body experience. Analyzing language facts, the author reveals a qualitative and quantitative misbalance in the verbal representation of interoceptive phenomena in English and Russian and comes up with the conclusion that the Anglophone culture is characterized by a more distinct orientation towards the cognitive exploration of the Inner Body and offers a better developed repertoire of language means to denote interoceptive experience.
