HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Is It Possible to Predict a Citys Life Based on the Shape of Its Neighbourhoods?
Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? VERB INFLECTION IN THE DIALECT OF GAMMALSVENSKBY

The dialect of Gammalsvenskby is the only surviving Scandinavian dialect in the territory of the former Soviet Union. Due to the complete absence of studies into the present-day state of the dialect, the most urgent task is to collect, classify and publish the factual material. The paper introduces material on verbs in the present-day dialect. The classification of inflectional types is offered together with lists of almost all verbs which have been recorded so far (ca. 600). The principal phonetic phenomena which have determined characteristic features of verb inflection in the dialect are examined as well. The sources of the research are interviews with speakers of the dialect recorded by the author during fieldwork in the village.
