The article is devoted to the legal regulation of the legal personality of companies in the European Union, which involves an analysis of the legal foundations of the status of legal entities in European corporate relations. The authors tried to give enough attention to both theoretical and practical aspects of the legal personality of legal entities in the territory of the European Union, to accompany theoretical arguments with concrete practical examples (for example, the legislation of France and Germany). The issues touched upon in the article are actively discussed both in the foreign and in the russian doctrine of private international law. A duly established personal law of a legal entity is an important aspect of international cooperation, economic relations and the market between countries, solves the issues of recognition of the legal personality of foreign legal entities, as well as disputes arising in connection with their activities abroad.  According to the results of the study of law enforcement practice within the European Union, the authors made conclusions on the scope and content of conflict regulation in determining the law applicable to legal entities.
