Овладение мыслительными операциями учащимися на примере программ начального образования
The development of individual abilities is the subject of study in various directions of contemporary psychology: developmental psychology, psychology of learning and psychology of abilities. An essential component of the purposeful development of abilities is mental operations mastering.
The aim of the article is to study pupils' mastering of mental operations on the example of educational programs on Russian language in elementary school. This study is particularly relevant in the light of new educational standard for general education school. V.D. Shadrikov’s theory of systemogenesis and abilities constitutes theoretical and methodological bases of the study.
A study was conducted to identify the possibility of pupils’ mastering of mental operations based on the analysis of texts of Russian language educational programs. Russian language textbooks of primary education (1, 2 and 3 class) by V.P. Kanakina and V.G. Goreckii comprised the sample of present study. The qualitative analysis allowed us to define the main types of mental operations that may be formed while this material mastering. In quantitative terms, the mental operations of matching, functional significance identification, distinction and analysis has the greatest potential for development on Russian language lessons; they have different measure of severity which depends on lesson’s topic.
The practical significance of the study is that it may contribute in finding the ways of increasing educational activity effectiveness by pupils’ successful mastering of mental operations. Thus, the mental operations considered as conscious mental activities, comprise the basic core of pupils’ thinking and can be specially trained in educational process in elementary school.
