Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Culture as collective resource allocation across life history trade-offs: Commentary on Baumard and André (2025)
Gallyamova A., Dmitry Grigoryev, Evolution and Human Behavior 2025 Vol. 46 No. 6 Article 106748
We discuss a naturalistic yet non-reductionist alternative to Baumard and André’s (2025) account. While their minimalist model helpfully situates culture within evolutionary ecology, it can downplay culture’s own organizing principles and historical dynamics. Building on Berry’s ecocultural perspective, we treat culture as a mediating and regulatory system shaped by ecological constraints yet operating through its ...

Comparative culturology and cross-cultural psychology: How comparing societal cultures differs from comparing individuals’ minds across cultures

Cross-cultural research in social and behavioral sciences has expanded hugely over the past 50 years, but progress is currently hampered by a lack of appreciation of the profoundly differing principles and goals of two distinct traditions. The first is the main variant of cross-cultural psychology (CCP), focusing on how culture shapes individual psychological functioning. The ...

Sheldon K. M., Titova L., Gordeeva T. O. et al., Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology 2017 Vol. 48 No. 5 P. 718–733
Cultural stereotypes and considerable psychological research suggest that Russians are less happy and more stoic than Americans and Westerners. However, a second possibility is simply that cultural norms deter Russians from displaying happiness that they actually feel.
