The author investigates the problems of implementing the right to privacy of a distant (off-site) employee, including those related to the use of the BYOD concept; audio and video surveillance at the workplace, which should be limited in the conditions of remote work. The intensification of work, the need to be constantly in touch with the employer violates the balance of work and private life. The distant employee’s right to disconnect is considered as an element of the employee’s right to privacy.
