Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Social Integration: At the Crossroads of Knowledge and Values
The International Laboratory for Social Integration Research (ILSIR) at HSE University studies the challenges faced by vulnerable groups and explores ways to help them participate fully in everyday life. To develop effective solutions, the laboratory’s researchers combine cutting-edge methods with practical fieldwork. In this interview with the HSE News Service, Laboratory Head Elena Iarskaia-Smirnova discusses the laboratory’s work.

Using User Feedback to Measure the Social Impact of Urban Digital Services: A Case Study of the Unified Resident Card of Saint-Petersburg

P. 248–253.
Nizomutdinov B., Olga G. Filatova

The modern development of urban digital services greatly simplifies the interaction of citizens and authorities, making it urgent to find new approaches to analyze their effectiveness. The study examined user reviews of the Unified Map of St. Petersburg mobile application as a data source for evaluating the social effectiveness of electronic services. The main hypothesis is that user reviews are a significant indicator reflecting the satisfaction of citizens and the level of their involvement in the process of digital interaction. A parser was developed for the analysis, which collected more than 600 reviews from the Google Play Market platform. The collected data, which included text comments and user ratings, were processed, classified, and thematically modeled using the LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) method. This allowed us to highlight key topics related to the functionality of the application, the quality of its implementation, the user-friendliness of the interface and user suggestions for its improvement. The analysis of user ratings revealed the most problematic and positive aspects of using the application. The official responses of the developers were also analyzed, which made it possible to assess the current level of feedback and interaction with citizens.
