Понятие «сынове/сыны русские» в домонгольской литературе
Древняя Русь. Вопросы медиевистики. 2025. № 4(102). С. 211–218.
The author of the article analyzes the expression "Russian sons," which is mentioned approximately ten times in pre-Mongol literary works, including "The Tale of Igor's Campaign," and which has given rise to various interpretations in literature. The author concludes that it should not be assumed to represent some archaic notion of a motherland or father-ancestor of all Rus'. Scribes used it in stylistically elevated contexts, wishing to emphasize the unity of the Rus as a people, primarily a Christian people.
