Историко-демографические базы данных метрических книг Российской империи конца XVIII – начала XX века.
The article presents an overview of historical and demographic databases of the late 18th–early 20thcenturies, created on the basis of the parish registers of the Russian Empire. The list created includes 100 research projects and an additional 41 projects that rely on other historical sources. Classification was made by the nature of the origin of the database (research, archival and others) and by affiliation with research centers. Important parameters in the description of databases and research projects were such criteria as: chronological period, territory of study, data format, data availability (openness/closedness), population groups, links to the source or web pages of the open database, as well as its annotation with a description of the purpose of creation and the data themselves. This made it possible to see both the institutional picture of historical and demographic research and its geographic coverage. The collected list is available to everyone in the form of a google table. Our article is intended to help researchers specializing in the field of historical demography find like-minded people and sources for comparative analysis. Consolidation of regional databases and their conversion to a single format can serve as a basis for fundamental international research and the identification of historical socio-economic and demographic relationships.
