De titulis Bosporanis et viciniis IX
The article continues a series of notes on previously published Bosporan inscriptions. On the crosshair of the ceremonial dagger from the kurgan in the Lower Volga region (No. 101), it is suggested to read «(Work) by Bion, from goldsmiths, with the help of Bakkhios. Highlighted by Gaius Eklogistos of good gold –». Epitaph, found in 1978 (No. 102), says κεῖμαι/ ἐν τῶι δὲ χ/ωρίωι Ἀΐδα' ἐν – "in fortress this lie, being in the range of Hades". In the list (No. 103) are restored the following names: Πανταλέ[ων] Ἀμυκ<α>λίσ[εω]ς (?), Προμη[ϑέ]ου (?), Ἡρακλείνου, Νόϑου, Κόλλα. The correct reading of CIRB 450 (No. 104) looks like this: Δόλησον, Ἡγούμενος καὶ υἱὸς Ὑγια(ί)νων – 2 vacat – χαίρετε. It is preferable to see satirical content in the ostracon Φίλισκος ὁ μάχιμος (No. 105). No. 106-113 urges to calculate line sizes more precisely and not overload the publications with microscopic fragments that do not carry significant information. In one building inscription from Tanais (No. 114), it is proposed to read not the name of Arsakes or Samuel, but of [Ἀ]pσακ[ίο]υ. No. 115 warns against linguistic experiments with the legend ΣΙΝΔΩΝ on the coins. In No. 116 was identified a third document mentioning Herakas son of Pontikos, head of the service of translators from the Alan language at the Bosporan Kingdom’s court. No. 117 makes adjustments to the inscription on the lead weight. No. 118 indicates errors when working with photos. No. 119 clarifies the reading of CIRB 29 proposed by a precursor. No. 120 gives an accurate reading of Pharnaces’ votive, found on the site of Artezian in 2023: [Βασιλεὺς βασιλέων] Φαρνάκης κρατῆ[σας (vel κρατη[τὴς) Ἀγ]αρανεονῶν ἀνέϑηκεν / Διὶ Γενάρχηι καὶ Σωτ[ῆρι]. No. 121 presents the adjusted reconstruction of the inscription on the pedestal of the statue from Nymphaeum: [β]ασιλέα v βασιλέ[ων μέγαν Μιϑραδάτην Εὐπά]/τορα Διόνυσον, τὸν Ν[υμφαϊτῶν σωτῆρα καὶ εὐ]/εργέτην, κρατήσαν[τα τῶν ἐν Βοσπόρωι]/[π]ραγμάτων καὶ ὑπ[οτάξαντα Σκύϑας καὶ Ταύρ/ους κτλ.]. In the Jewish tombstones, it is suggested to read Ἰουσουα (No. 122) and to prefer Sambation (No. 123). No. 124 contains doubts about the accuracy of the Lesbian attribution of Ἀρχαιανακτίδαι.
