The article describes an original approach to the evaluation of changes in legal regulation of work of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation. The author shows a gradual transfer to the differentiated legal regulation in the said sphere by establishment of legal regimes of work of various categories of foreign citizens; discusses the conclusion on the necessity of more detailed working out of the system of legal regimes of work of foreign citizens taking into consideration their professional (qualification) characteristics.
