Фракционное соперничество периода правления Ёнсан-гуна и его влияние на политический курс правителя Чосон, 1495-1506 гг.
Yŏnsan-gun was the tenth ruler of the Korean state of Chosŏn and one of the two rulers of the Yi dynasty who was deprived of a posthumous temple name. The period of his reign is often characterized as "tyranny"; one can easily find a description in analytical literature of Yŏnsan-gun's cruel policies carried out through mass persecutions. However, it is important to note that the reign of Yŏnsan-gun was also characterized by the stabilization of the general political course of the government and the active involvement of the monarch in state and political processes.
This study aims to analyze the persecutions carried out in the late fifteenth – early sixteenth centuries as an instrument, utilized by the monarch to stabilize political processes in Chosŏn, and to compare the ruling style of Yŏnsan-gun with other kings of the Yi dynasty who have received positive historiographic assessments.
