My colleague Matko Globačnik's review of my book "Prije Tita" abounds in factually incorrect claims and tendentious twisting of the arguments that I presented in the book, but also raises certain historiographically important topics that are of wider significance for historians in the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Because of the above, I considered it important, not only for my sake but also for the professional and general public, to respond to his incorrect claims and methodological remarks. I will start with factually incorrect claims, which cross the boundaries of collegiality and occasionally border on defamation, and from there I will move on to broader methodological disagreements and their historiographical implications.
