Источники отчетов посольских миссий и их роль в формировании языка описания Китая в Московском царстве XVII в.
The article analyzes the sources that were presented in the emissaries’ accounts of the first two embassies from the Muscovite kingdom to China. This analysis identifies key trends that influenced the languages of space and China description development. It emphasizes the uniqueness of each emissaries’ account and the distinctive methods ambassadors used for working with sources. A similar problem was considered by researchers of the ‘prikaz’ language, G.N. Starikova and O.A. Kazakevich, however, in contrast to the direction they presented, this article focuses on the diversity of available description languages. These differences reveal changes in approaches towards information and space, the foundations upon which text and thought are built. Particular attention is paid to the regional aspect in the construction of descriptions, the influence of Siberian residence on ideas about space and the world. One of the article’s key findings is that the representation of peoples and lands in the emissaries’ accounts aligns with descriptions formed through observations of Siberia's ethnic diversity, allowing them to avoid exoticizing China.
