Политика США по присвоению статуса "основного союзника вне НАТО" в отношении государств ССАГПЗ

The study analyzes the US policy of assigning the status of "Major Non-NATO Ally" to the GCC states. The reasons for mutual interest in establishing and maintaining a US "protective umbrella" over the states of the region are highlighted. Through a review of US relations with each state in the region, the policy of assigning/not assigning status to each country and to the region as a whole is characterized. The paper notes the importance of taking into account the individual level of interaction of each GCC country with the US and NATO when further building Russian foreign policy in the region.
