Scientists Develop Algorithm for More Reliable Processors in Data Centres
Researchers from HSE MIEM and Samara University have developed the LRF-3D algorithm to automatically bypass idle nodes in three-dimensional networks-on-chip. Thanks to its hierarchical architecture, the algorithm outperforms existing solutions in both speed and path accuracy, improving processor reliability for use in data centres, supercomputers, and AI computing. The source code and test results are publicly available.

Researchers Develop Method for Direct Generation of Regulatory DNA
Researchers at HSE University have developed a model for generating promoters and enhancers—DNA sequences that regulate gene activity. The model works directly with DNA nucleotides, without first transforming them into a continuous numerical representation. This solution could be useful for applications in synthetic biology and gene therapy. The study results were presented at the ICLR 2026 Workshop ‘Generative AI in Genomics (Gen^2): Barriers and Frontiers.’

Опыт участия молодежи в избирательных кампаниях и его влияние на их гражданскую позицию

Социологические исследования. 2021. № 7. С. 90–100.
Barsukova S., Звягинцев А. В., Лаптиева Л. С.

048). Abstract. The statement about low electoral activity of young people is among the empirically proven ones. However, voting (or not voting) is not the only way for young people to participate in the Барсукова С.Ю. и др. Опыт участия молодежи в избирательных кампаниях и его.. 101 electoral process. Election campaigns are a space of activity with a variety of functional positions that differ in qualification requirements and the size of pay. In this article, election campaigns are considered not from the point of view of ideology, but as organizational formats to involve young people in activities related to the organization and election campaigning in the Russian Federation. We are talking about the activities of young people as street agitators (traditionally called volunteers), organizers of the work in election headquarters, public observers or members of precinct election commissions. The article consistently answers the questions: what are the channels for recruiting young people in election campaigns? What is motivating young people? What forms of activity do carriers of differing motivations choose? How do young people summarize their experience of participating in election campaigns in terms of their political and career self-determination? The answers to these questions were obtained on the basis of interviews with persons under 28 who had experience of participating in election campaigns in the Russian Federation.

Secondly, ...

Ustyuzhanin V., Zinkina J. V., Korotayev A., / Series "SocArXiv". 2026.
“Leaderlessness” is widely held to be a defining feature of contemporary mass mobilization, yet the claim rests on a handful of recent cases. We offer the first systematic cross-national analysis of this phenomenon from 1791 to 2019. We show that the absence of leadership is real but older and more modest than claimed: the share ...

Kazun A., Девятников В.

By happiness, we mean the intensity of emotions people experience while comparing their new income with its expected value, or the target income with its original value. In the first case, ...

Classification Approach to Mapping Cultural Differences: An Illustration Using Survey Data from 60 Russian Regions
Nastina E., Sokolov B., / Series OSF "SocArXiv". 2025.
We argue that a classification-based approach to measuring cultural differences across countries or subnational regions is a promising complement, and sometimes an alternative, to the widely used dimensional method in cross-cultural research. The latter summarises cultural variation using continuous dimensions, for example, Hofstede’s famous individualism-collectivism dimension. However, this approach relies on strong parametric assumptions, which are ...

Cross-Nationally, Non-Probability Web Surveys Demonstrate Poorer DemographicCoverage and Yield More Liberal Estimates of Public Opinion than F2F Surveys
Korsunava V., Sokolov B., / Series OSF "SocArXiv". 2025.
Non-probability web surveys offer several advantages over face-to-face (F2F) interviews—they are cheaper, faster, more accessible, and reduce interviewer effects and desirability bias. As such, they are increasingly popular in both academic and commercial research. However, they often yield demographically biased samples, raising concerns about the accuracy of the resulting public opinion estimates. Most studies on ...
