РОЛЬ ИТАЛЬЯНСКОЙ КУЛЬТУРЫ В КОНТЕКСТЕ СОВЕТСКОЙ ПОВСЕДНЕВНОСТИ ПЕРИОДА 1960-1970-х гг.
Most of the Soviet people got a certain idea of Italy and Italians in the process of getting to know Italian culture. The products of Italian cultural activity, such as exhibitions, cinema, theater, music, language, fashion and design, became available to the Soviet audience thanks to the development of cultural connection between the USSR and Italy in the late 1950s - early 1960s. The period of "thaw" influenced the development of relations, that acquired particular intensity in the 1960s-1970s.
This article is focused on the influence of Italian culture on the formation of Soviet consumer habits during the period of 1960-1970s. Special attention is given to such cultural branches as cinema, fashion and design. Some examples of Italian production, that were later reproduced in the Soviet Union, are used as an empirical basis for the study: a FIAT car, a Vespa scooter and a raincoat made of Bologna fabric; as well as related articles written by film critics, memoirs of eyewitnesses of the era and films.
