Intent to become an expatriate: a multinational application of Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior and the role of gender
New notion “socio-psychological capital” is proposed and operationalized. From the author’s point of view, socio-psychological capital is a certain psychological relations that are a basis for social capital forming. I. Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior is used as theoretical bases for entrepreneurial behavior study. It is shown that there is an infl uence of some components of socio-psychological capital (institutional trust, social trust and perceived social capital) on socio-cognitive phenomena underlying the intention to open person’s own business. It is stated that socio-psychological capital does not infl uence directly on intention to open one’s own business.
The current research hypothesized that individual social capital facilitates the implementation of one’s intention to start a business. The research samples were drawn from a sample of 2061 adult respondents: a sub-sample of 269 adults who stated their intention to start their own business during the next two years (‘intenders’) and a matching sub-sample of 270 who said they did not intend to do so (‘non-intenders’). The study shows that the ‘intenders’ possessed greater individual social capital. These resources had a positive indirect impact (through increased perceived behavioural control and attitude) on their intention to start their own business.
This article discusses and analyzes the emigration intentions of youth (N = 203) using the theory of planned behavior (Ajzen, 1982) and their relationship with socio-psychological factors. In particular, we study relationship of emigration intentions with the fairly new concept - the socio-psychological capital. Socio-psychological capital is seen as a resource of psychological attitudes, accessible to individuals belonging to a group. The structure of the socio-psychological capital are: trust, , civic identity, ethnic tolerance and perceived social capital. Case studies on the youth (18 to 24 years) showed that civic identity negatively correlated with emigration intentions. This research also provides a brief analysis of the socio-psychological capital of young people.
At present many industries reveal tendency for setting up of vertically integrated companies (VIC) the structure of which unites all technological processes. This tendency proved its efficiency in oil industry where coordination of all successive stages of technological process, namely, oil prospecting and production -oil transportation - oil processing - oil chemistry - oil products and oil chemicals marketing, is necessary. The article considers specific features of introduction of "personnel management" module at enterprises of oil and gas industry.
