An Approach to Knowledge Management in Construction Service – Oriented Architecture
Modern business driving requires agility in the reflecting changes of Service-oriented Enterprise Architecture (SoEA). For this purpose Subject-oriented Business Process Management (S-BPM) was used for facilitation of structured communication between process participants, process experts and resulted generation of collaborative business process. During such generation all necessary requirements for supporting resources (such as information, know-how, intellectual and professional skills, inputs and outputs, quality and operational risk limitations, moderation, control and monitoring) are taken into consideration using the operational knowledge of experts and project participants that act inside the predefined business area. The work results in updating the business model selecting business services from the virtual SOA torrent (that catches rated cloud services on the internet) and represents the basis for quickly adjustable “real-time” service-oriented enterprise architectures.
Almost all of the technologies that are now part of the cloud paradigm existed before, but so far the market has not been proposals that bring together emerging technologies in a single commercially attractive solution. However, in the last decade, there were public cloud services, through which these technologies, on the one hand, available to the developer, and on the other - it is clear to the business community. But many of the features that make cloud computing attractive, may be in conflict with traditional models of information security.
Due to the fact that cloud computing bring with them new challenges in the field of information security, it is imperative for organizations to control the process of information risk management in the cloud. In this article on the basis of Common Vulnerability Scoring System, allowing to determine the qualitative indicator of exposure to vulnerabilities of information systems, taking into account environmental factors, we propose a method of risk assessment for different types of cloud deployment environments.
Information Risk Management, determine the applicability of cloud services for the organization is impossible without understanding the context in which the organization operates and the consequences of the possible types of threats that it may face as a result of their activities. This paper proposes a risk assessment approach used in the selection of the most appropriate configuration options cloud computing environment from the point of view of safety requirements. Application of risk assessment for different types of deployment of cloud environments will reveal the ratio counter possible attacks and to correlate the amount of damage to the total cost of ownership of the entire IT infrastructure of the organization.
By analyzing the logs of corporate e-mail networks we found a number of patterns, showing how the size of ego-networks of individual employees changes on a day by day basis. We proposed a simple model that adequately describes the observed time dependence of an employee's "social circle". Comparison of experimental data with the theoretical model showed that employees are divided into two groups - with fast and slow changes in their social circles, respectively. We believe that the presence of these groups reflects both project-type and process-type of employees' activities. Comparison of data obtained before and during the global economic crisis has shown that the crisis led to an actual reduction in project-type activities.

At the same time, it provides an important opportunity for members of the IC, KM and OL communities to come together with peers, share knowledge and exchange ideas. Inconsistency of business processes can affect company profits and lead to the loss of regular customers and reputation in the market. Well managed business process has one key distinctive feature – a consistency. Checking the consistency of business process helps to reveal hidden bugs in the process model, but requires considerable labor costs and analytics. We compared two approaches to verifying consistency. The first approach is based on generating object life cycles for each object type used in process and supported by special tool as an extension for IBM WebSphere Business Modeler. Another one is a proposition to use DEMO methodology for verifying consistency. The paper investigates the process of evolutionary transformation of cooperation and integration modes of industrial and construction enterprises in St.-Petersburg. The study has been performed at the period since 1998 to nowadays. The network form of integration was chosen as the main objet of this research. The paper is aimed at identifying the path of knowledge management development in different types of networks.
One of the peculiarities of the network form of integration is the high level of independence of the network participants that interact with each other. Key issues in this cooperation would be the following:
How to organize an effective transfer of knowledge and technologies within a network?
How to find a balance between open systems of innovation and the protection of the intellectual property of network participants?
How to evaluate the intellectual capital of a network? Is it necessary to make an assessment for each participant separately? Should one take into account synergies that increase the value of the intellectual capital because of the network participants’ interaction and knowledge sharing?
How to increase competitiveness of each company and of the whole network by the effective use of the intellectual capital?
How to measure the impact of open innovations on the intellectual capital of the companies interacting within a network?
Thus, it is important to reveal how knowledge management system is developing within a network of inter-related enterprises.
On the base of interviews of top-managers of companies in industrial and construction companies there were identified five different types of networks and knowledge management systems within these types. It is demonstrated how the knowledge management model is growing and becoming mature from the amorphous type of network cooperation to the integrated type. Factors, influencing this evolutionary development, have been revealed. Also, the paper proposes an approach to the evaluation of knowledge management systems based upon the value-based management indicators.
The author investigates issues related to the methodology and technology of applying the knowledge management system in an organization, describes infrastructure types needed to successfully practice a complex project of introducing an organizational, social and technological system of knowledge management.
This book consists of selected papers presented in the framework of the 16th International Conference on Perspectives in Business Informatics Research (BIR 2018), held in Stockholm, Sweden, September 24-26, 2018. The BIR conference series was established 16 years ago as the initiative of some German and Swedish universities with the aim of supporting the global forum for researchers in business informatics for their collaboration and exchange of results.
