Выразительность нехудожественной речи

Преподаватель XXI век. 2016. № 3. С. 371-376.

The article is devoted to the question of expressiveness of non-literary speech. Proceeding from the theory of two languages of M. Y. Blokh, the author considers the principal differences between the literary and non-literary speech. The author exposes the ability of non-literary speech to be expressive with reference to the existing definitions of expressiveness. Having analyzed the materials chosen from literature of human sciences and literature of natural sciences, the author distinguishes two types of expressiveness of speech – logical-semantic and imaginative. The special attention is given to the analysis of different ways of achieving two types of expressiveness. Imaginative expressiveness is considered in the light of the dictemic theory and analyzed on the examples of metaphors and similes.
