Topical trends of the Russian education system contribute to a reassessment of the status of humanities and social science in higher school. The consequence of this is difficulties in their teaching. This article is devoted to consideration of the main problems encountered in the process the study of philosophy and analysis of difficulties in methodical, substantive and communicative components of the lecture course. Our research provides ways of overcoming these difficulties in the light of current trends of science and education and philosophy of M. Mamardashvili.
