Жанровый подход как способ повышения эффективности обучения аргументации на английском языке.
The article addresses the problem of developing English argumentation skills among Russian-speaking students. Now that modern education places an emphasis on the development of complex cognitive skills argumentative competence has become a key element of successful academic communication. However, Russian-speaking learners face certain difficulties in mastering this type of competence within the English-language educational context. The aim of this study is to analyze the rhetorical differences between Russian and English-speaking argumentative traditions, identify the main challenges students face, and demonstrate the genre-based approach in overcoming these challenges. Focus id placed on the practical implementation of the latter through three stages: the deconstruction of text samples, and the collaborative and independent construction of statements. It is concluded that the genre-based method not only helps students master the structural and linguistic norms of English-language argumentation but also contributes to the development of critical thinking and an understanding of the cultural conditioning of rhetorical practices, which ultimately leads to the creation of more persuasive and authentic academic texts.
