Immunity to Chaos: How Personal Resources Help Us Cope with the Challenges of a Turbulent World
International conflicts, crises and digital overload—the modern world puts our minds to the test every day. Traditional psychology often focuses on the consequences: anxiety, depression, and psychosomatic disorders. But what if we looked at the problem differently—through the lens of the resources that prevent us from breaking down? Psychological immunity is precisely this set of resources. Alena Zolotareva and her group, Psychological Immunity as a Resource for Positive Functioning, are developing an integrative model of this phenomenon, adapting diagnostic tools and preparing for large-scale empirical research. Why do psychologists need to collaborate with medical professionals, and how could their research transform preventive care in clinics and corporations?

How to Assess Students Knowledge in the Age of AI
A researcher at HSE University has proposed a flowchart to help lecturers decide how to assess students who use artificial intelligence. It shows where the use of AI should be restricted and where it can be incorporated into the learning process. The article has been published in IT Professional.

‘Balkan Hospitality Opens Doors: Studying Dialects on the Verge of Extinction
You cannot study spoken dialects from books. Instead, you need to go to a village, seek out its elders, and earn the trust of local residents before you can record hours of spontaneous stories. This is how Natalia Muravleva, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, conducts her research. Her internship in Serbia continued her long-standing study of dialects spoken by Macedonian settlers. In this interview, she discusses how diaspora cultural centres help researchers reach informants, why native speakers need to be interviewed only in their own language (otherwise, as she puts it, they may 'break'), and how a single field season helped her finalise her monograph. She also shares warm memories of autumn in Belgrade and of colleagues with whom grammar can be discussed in three languages at once.

Fostering Sustainable Innovation Through Multistakeholder Collaboration in the Digital Circular Economy. In book: Sustainable Innovations and Digital Circular Economy (pp.105-125)
Tyurkin M., Azamat A., Singh J., [б.и.], 2025.
n this chapter, we explore into the role of multistakeholder collaboration in propelling sustainable innovation for the digital circular economy. As the world transforms towards sustainable and resource-efficient systems, collaboration is key. The interplay between governments, businesses, academia, and civil society becomes crucial. Understanding what motivates the adoption of technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, ...

Fonotov A., Kosychev A., Управление наукой: теория и практика 2026 Т. 8 № 1 С. 12–31
The study compares the national artificial intelligence (AI) strategies of the United States, China and Russia, assessing their substantive completeness and governance logics. It employs a hybrid framework that combines governance approaches (anticipatory, reflexive, experimentalist and tentative) with a content analysis of the structures of the strategies. The results show that the United States relies ...

LoRA meets Riemannion: Muon Optimizer for Parametrization-independent Low-Rank Adapters
Vladimir Bogachev, Aletov V., Alexander Molozhavenko et al., , in: The Fourteenth International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR 2026).: ICLR, 2026. Ch. 20503 P. 1–26.
This work presents a novel, fully Riemannian framework for Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) that geometrically treats low-rank adapters by optimizing them directly on the fixed-rank manifold. This formulation eliminates the parametrization ambiguity present in standard Euclidean optimizers. Our framework integrates three key components to achieve this: (1) we derive Riemannion, a new Riemannian optimizer on the fixed-rank ...

Rethinking Global Text Conditioning in Diffusion Transformers
Nikita Starodubcev, Pakhomov D., Wu Z. et al., , in: The Fourteenth International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR 2026).: ICLR, 2026.
Diffusion transformers typically incorporate textual information via (i) attention layers and (ii) a modulation mechanism using a pooled text embedding. Nevertheless, recent approaches discard modulation-based text conditioning and rely exclusively on attention. In this paper, we address whether modulation-based text conditioning is necessary and whether it can provide any performance advantage. Our analysis shows that, ...

he problem of generating high-quality synthetic data is crucial for many data science tasks. A generated dataset can cut the costs on the augmentation of the existing data with additional instances, for example, in physics, or help with its privacy protection, for instance, in banking. However, generating a tabular dataset is challenging, as the data ...
