This article describes the study of iambic tetrameters, rarely found in Mayakovsky’s poetry. The rhythm of these meters is studied against the background of the poet's prose, in particular, in comparison with the rhythm of his occasional iambs. Historical context is included. The study reveals a fairly close connection between Mayakovsky and the tradition of Russian iambic verse and the forms of its implementation that have developed in different stages of the verse evolution.
