Стратегии популяризации медицинского знания в произведениях художественного нон-фикшена: лингвостилистический анализ
The article analyzes strategies for popularizing medicine in the context of a rapidly developing literary genre. The aim of the study is to identify ways to adapt medical knowledge to the stylistic and pragmatic features of nonfiction works on medical topics, used by science communicators with different professional backgrounds. The article examines the genre of creative nonfiction, a hybrid of classical nonfiction and fiction, characterized by a high degree of veracity and a thoughtful approach to the artistic side of the work. The objectives of the study included examining the basic characteristics of creative nonfiction and analyzing popular science works, identifying the popularization strategies used by authors and the corresponding linguistic means, and also establishing the degree of influence of the authors’ professional background on the strategies used. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using its results for educational purposes (for instance, within the framework of a course on lexicology or narrative medicine for students of philological, linguistic, and medical fields) and the popularization of science. The study has revealed that the main popularization strategies are: introduction and contextualization of the topic; targeted use of headlines, humor, and narration to engage the reader; the use of imagery and explanations to convey information clearly; and the inclusion of references to sources and additional literature to ensure the reliability of the information. It is noted that these strategies are implemented through expressive linguistic means and structural elements of text organization.
