The textbook is intended for senior Vietnamese students; it fully complies with the curriculum for the discipline "Socio-political translation"; it includes theoretical and practical parts. The purpose of the textbook is to develop the skills and abilities of oral and written translation of texts on socio-political topics from Vietnamese into Russian and from Russian into Vietnamese. All texts are taken from authentic modern sources. The textbook consists of twelve thematic and one final lessons. The basic part of each lesson includes a vocabulary list on the topic of the lesson, a lexical and grammatical commentary, exercises for translating phrases and word combinations from Vietnamese into Russian and vice versa, the main and additional texts in Vietnamese, a text for translation from Russian, and questions for conversation in Vietnamese. The textbook is designed for 200 hours of classroom work. Successful mastery of the material of the proposed textbook will allow the student to easily cope with the translation of socio-political texts of both general content and specialized nature - about the regional policy of the countries of Southeast Asia and the international relations of Vietnam.
