The monograph is devoted to one of the central problems of modern psychology and learning theory - diagnostics and development of cognitive and metacognitive abilities of an individual in an educational environment. One of the main areas of interest of cognitive psychology is the desire to understand how a person processes and assimilates information, what strategies he/she uses when solving tasks, and what factors influence these processes. An important area of research is the study of the metacognitive component of thinking and cognition. The activation of interdisciplinary research on the problems of diagnostics and development of cognitive and metacognitive processes, the formation of cognitive interests and needs, individual cognitive style, the development of intelligence, creativity, mnemic, conceptual, metacognitive abilities of personality is conditioned by the high dynamism of modern educational environment.
