The concept of sustainable development is a generally recognized paradigm of our time, and the sphere of higher education in this regard acts as an important environment for the implementation of international projects and national programs aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The monograph reveals two main areas in the context of which the activities of universities are implemented in implementing the sustainable development agenda: accounting and analytical and scientific and educational. The results of the analysis of the formation of reports on sustainable development (on the achievement of the SDGs) by leading Russian universities are presented in comparison with individual cases of public disclosure of information on the implementation of the SDGs by foreign universities. The experience of universities in the countries of North and South America, Asia and Africa, the European continent in the field of developing curricula, relevant pedagogical methods and educational practices in the interests of sustainable development is studied and summarized.
The theoretical and methodological approaches to the disclosure of information by universities on their contribution to the UN SDGs, as well as a summary of practical recommendations for the implementation of the studied issues in courses (disciplines) presented in the monograph are universal in nature and applicable to domestic universities as best practices in the field of sustainable development.
