This volume aims to contribute to the discussion of narratives as a research method by bringing together studies on the connection between narratives and social practices from scholars in diverse fields and backgrounds, combining theoretical and empirical approaches to the study of narratives. In the first part of the volume, scholars from the fields of philosophy of narrative and ethnographic research share their reflections on how to identify and approach
the links between narratives and social structures. The second part of the volume is constituted by the contributions from scholars working in the field of East Asian studies and offering empirical case studies.
