Каршеринг «с женским лицом»: есть ли гендерная специфика в использовании краткосрочной аренды автомобилей
Russian car-sharing companies are actively developing, increasing the number of services offered and cars provided for short-term car rental. The rapid development of carsharing is especially relevant for Moscow, which currently has 10 carsharing operators serving a total of more than 30,000 cars and 135,000 trips per day. At the same time, according to research companies, the majority of users of carsharing services are men. What is the reason for this gender disparity? Why do women use carsharing less often? In search of answers to these questions, the article analyzes the attitude of female drivers to the short-term car rental service. The author relies on the materials of the All-Russian online survey ROMIR (sample of 974 people, 2020) and on her own semi-formalized interviews (15 people, 2021). During the data analysis, it was found that the very existence of a short-term car rental service can act as an incentive to obtain a driver's license, and carsharing itself is perceived by female drivers in two ways: both as personal and as public transport.
