Критика концепции математической вселенной М. Тегмарка с точки зрения современных дискуссий в философии физики и философии математики

The aim of the paper is to interpret M. Tegmark’s concept of the mathematical universe. The first part of the paper describes the development of the concept. Main ontological features are provided and analyzed using the ontic structural realism and mathematical platonism frameworks. Tegmark combines radically some of the aspects of these frameworks. The second part of the paper is the critical analysis which shows that the strongest side of the Tegmark’s concept is the appeal to the invariance of the structures. Still, his theory is internally inconsistent and is not integrated into modern discussions on unobservable objects in Philosophy of Science. The paper demonstrates the importance of the philosophical interpretation and analysis of popular science physical theories within the discussion of reality’s nature.
