Онтологические аспекты концепции математической вселенной М. Тегмарка
The paper is dedicated to the critical analysis of M. Tegmark’s concept of mathematical universe. Tegmark suggests an ontology based on fundamental mathematical structures. Such approach explains, for example, the unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics and the nature of randomness. It also unifies leading cosmological multiverse theories under one mathematical multiverse. Tegmark combines platonist, realist and structuralist views. However, author’s elimination of objects’ intrinsic properties raises certain questions and problems. In particular, this leads to them losing their already present identity. The same happens to the objectifies structures. Besides, the possibility of inferring physical from structural implies that ontology cannot be purely structural. Notwithstanding its advantages and popularity, the concept of mathematical universe may be developed and improved by the means of critical philosophical analysis.
