» The aim of this paper is to explore the perspectives provided by the performative approach to the proof focusing on two classical questions which concern the interpretation of the Cartesian argument I think therefore I am: (1) what kind of logical or non-logical constraint does therefore express in the formulation of this argument? (2) what is the entity whose existence is demonstrated in the Cogito or, to borrow Hintikka's formulation, « Cogito ergo quis est ? » .
