The article considers the process of economic integration of Russia and the Republic of Belarus within the framework of development of the Union State. The problem is investigated through the collection and analysis of reactions of regional enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region to joint work with enterprises of the Republic of Belarus. The purpose of the study is to study the perception of the economic integration of Russia and the Republic of Belarus by regional enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region. The study used such methods as a semi-structured focused interview with representatives (owners, managers) of enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region, consisting of several blocks. The results of the study showed that today there is a demand in Russian society for deepening the economic integration of Russia and the Republic of Belarus, however, in more than 20 years a small number of measures have been implemented that contribute to this process. The regional enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region have mixed assessments of the experience of interaction with Belarusian enterprises, but they are positive about the further economic integration of Russia and the Republic of Belarus.
