The article attempts to investigate how the women travelers master European space during the Age of Enlightenment. This paper investigates the unpublished, little-known travelogue of the British envoy’s sister Katherine Gertrude Harris. In a series of journals, she described journeys from England to Russia in the 1770s-1780s. The study of these documents provides an opportunity to reconstruct the under-researched topic of women’s travel, as well as to articulate road and transport infrastructure and its impact on the European travelers’ experience of mobility.
