Las Siete Partidas del Rey Sabio: Una aproximación desde la filología digital y material
Las Siete Partidas is one of the most fascinating medieval Castilian texts. In some respects, it is still going strong and has attracted the attention of researchers around the world. It is a work that has given rise to great debates, such as how many newsrooms it has known; if it was enacted and when it was; his relationship with the Setenario; the testimonies in which it has been preserved and transmitted, its invoice, its decoration; its wide dissemination through multiple manuscript copies; its reception in other Iberian cultural and linguistic areas, as demonstrated by the different translations into Catalan, Galician and Portuguese. Some of these aspects have deserved numerous works, but others have barely been mentioned collaterally. This volume contains a bunch of articles that have emerged during the development of the 7 Partidas Digital project, whose objective is the digital edition of all the Castilian testimonies in order to establish a possible critical text using the most modern computer techniques and the most proven philological methods. The volume opens with the census of the Castilian testimonies and closes with the description of the computer coding system that has been used with the forms of the Siete Partidas. Between both poles, some of the textual and codicological problems that characterize the manuscript testimonies studied are examined; A state of the question is offered about the manuscript and textual tradition of the work, particularly in what refers to the known redactions and versions and their relationship with other Alphonsine texts, such as the Setenario; the lighting schemes are analyzed, in particular, the examination of the miniatures of MSS/12837 of the National Library of Spain; as well as the paratexts found in some of the codices in which they have been transmitted; in addition; An update is offered regarding the dissemination and translation of the Siete partidas in the other Ibero-Romance languages, as well as the particular analysis of some illustrative examples of the cultural and historical reception, in the literary and social sphere, of the Siete Partidas throughout the Hispanic Middle Ages.
