Трудовые ценности населения Санкт-Петербурга в контексте модернизации производства
The article is based on the results of the studies carried out by the resource center of St. Petersburg State University “Center for Sociological and Internet Research”. It discusses the relationship between the value-motivational structure of Russian employees and the modernization of production processes. Key findings obtained by the authors confirm the conclusions made by other researchers that the value-motivational core of Russian employees is a cultural factor holding back the development of production processes. The authors reveal a tendency towards devaluation of the image of the worker in Russian society. At the same time, it should be noted that for the majority of the population labor remains an internal need, an area of self-realization, and technological changes associated with the digitalization actualize the values of professional and personal development at the workplace. Based on the study results, the authors conclude that the factors that increase the attractiveness of labor are not only decent wages, but also a professional team, good relations with colleagues (a favorable sociopsychological climate); convenient work schedule, and the possibility to change activities. The factors that reduce the attractiveness of labor include the lack of changes at the workplace associated with new technologies; poor working conditions; unfair payment; labor intensification without an adequate increase in its payment. The authors substantiated the arguments about the possibility of modernization (the development of a new technological order related to digitalization) and economic growth through the lens of the value of labor and labor values of citizens.
