HSE Scientists Train Neural Network to 'Hear' Faults in Electric Motors
Researchers at the AI and Digital Science Institute of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science have developed a new method—the Signature-Guided Data Augmentation (SGDA) framework—that achieves 99% accuracy in motor fault detection and 86% accuracy in fault classification. The application of this approach can reduce industrial equipment repair costs, minimise downtime, and improve production safety. The study results have been published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.

Is It Possible to Predict a Citys Life Based on the Shape of Its Neighbourhoods?
Is it possible to predict, based on the configuration of streets and buildings, where a café will open or where traffic congestion will occur? Participants in the Spatial Analysis and Modelling of Urban Processes research and study group use open data and machine learning to identify universal patterns. Alexander Sheludkov and Eduard Somov discuss the purpose of comparing cities, the need for new forms of urban statistics, and how open data is transforming approaches to urban studies.

Automation of NoC throughput search in high-level modeling

P. 1–5.
A.A. Amerikanov, A.S. Ponomarev, T.V. Tarzhanov

This work is devoted to the development of a single environment for high-level Network-on-Chip (NoC) modeling. The developed environment includes several highlevel models and optimization methods. This concept allows for more accurate modeling and reduces simulation time. The concept of the software environment is proposed, and the requirements for added models are described. Methods for optimizing the process of high-level NoC modeling (the comparative method, parallel launch of several models, binary search method, golden section method, similarity method) are developed and tested. Modelling results are studied using the methods proposed.

This work is a logical continuation of previous works related to the study of promising topologies for networks-on-chip based on the direct and root product of circulant graphs. In this article, we describe and compare the static characteristics of the hierarchical method of constructing more complex structures compared to the root and direct products of graphs. Also in this paper, the ...
