The article examines the state of national extracurricular education sectors in the countries of the former Soviet Union. The authors focus on the content of extracurricular activities. After the analysis of statistical data and expert assessments on the distribution of thematic areas of children's extracurricular education authors made an attempt to describe national systems of extracurricular education in the context of activities’ content areas.
