Article describes the Balkan dimension of the Chinese foreign policy which is the final part of the European segment of the Belt and Road Initiative. The author argues while presenting the main achievements of the Beijing presence in the region, why the Chinese penetration is seen by the European and Balkan elites as a dichotomy “opportunity” and “danger”. Also the article gives explanation how Chinese presence in the region correlates with the strategy of the European Union towards Southeast Europe.
