The article analyses the investment cooperation between the Europe an Union and Mexico, resulted in the former’s evolution into the se cond most important foreign investor in the Mexican economy after the United States. The author identifies main characteristics of the in vestment climate in Mexico, noting the great contribution of Spanish TNCs there. The defining trend of the last decade is identified here as the reciprocal nature of capital flows between the EU and Mexico and, moreover, the increasing investments of the latter’s hightech start ups in the European, primarily Spanish, economy. The author predicts that the national development strategy of Mexico, which was presen ted in January 2025, will play a special role in intensifying investment cooperation between the two sides, noting nearshoring as one of the priority areas here
