A colecção que iniciamos com a publicação deste volume inscreve-se no programa definido pelo grupo MCCLA no seio da CIDH. Dar visibilidade a protagonistas cujas histórias a História ofuscou torna-se o motivo central para a empresa, da qual deriva ampliar o conhecimento de uma série de figuras femininas que se afirmaram numa dada região, época ou circunstância particular.
The collection, which is started with the publication of this volume is part of the project launched by the MCCLA group within the CIDH. Our main idea was to make visible a range of under-estimated women personalities, to develop our knowledge about their role in a certain geographical region, time, or particular circumstances.
