The basic directions of contemporary research in the field of public policy are the subject of analysis. The experience of World and Russian public policy research is analyzed. The different variants of translation of notion ‘public policy’ in Russian and possible collision are discussed. The activities of Research committee N32 of International Association of Political Science ‘Public policy and Administration’ are in the focus of attention during analysis of world experience of public policy research. Similar to this, Russian experience of public policy research was examined with the focus of activities of analogous research committee of Russian association of political science.
